Welcome to the website of NET Basketball Academy Youth Development, a not-for-profit organization offering basketball programs for youth

COVID-19

We are following all COVID-19 guidelines issued by health authorities, Ontario Basketball Association (OBA), and gym facilities. OBA is in Stage 3 of Return to Play Guidelines, which allows for indoor team practices with no contact. All our programs will start with individual and team drills with no live defense. We will introduce live defense, scrimmages, and games only when OBA will open Stage 4.

We made the decision to re-start our programs In September because, while acknowledging that COVID-19 is a definite health risk, there are also risks associated with lack of physical activity and social isolation among children and teenagers. We trust that parents/legal guardians will make the best decisions for their kids when evaluating the risks and rewards for each activity.

Please read this page and the Programs page carefully before registration.

We are a high quality albeit small basketball program serving North-East Toronto and beyond. As such, we have a limited number of spots for each of our Programs. The skill level criteria that define eligibility for a program are as follows:

        1. Beginner Skill Level / Skill Fundamentals Program - athletes with no prior basketball experience, or no organized club experience, or one or two basketball camps within a year

        2. Intermediate Skill Level / House League Program - athletes with at least 1 year of organized club experience, or at least 1 year in school team, or at least 3 basketball camps of at least 1 week each within a year, or any combination thereof

        3. Advanced Skill Level / House League and Rep Programs - athletes with at least 2 years of organized basketball experience, or at least 2 years of school team, or multiple basketball camps within at least 2 years time, or any combination thereof

There are more criteria for each program, such as age group, on our Programs page. All current or former NET Basketball Academy players are automatically eligible for Intermediate or Advanced Skill Level programs.

Club Affiliation

We are affiliated with Ontario Basketball Association (OBA), for both House League Development Program, and Competitive Program (Ontario Basketball League/Sanctioned tournaments). Currently, Ontario Basketball Association (OBA), in co-operation with Provincial Government and health authorities, opened Stage 3 of Return to Play Guidelines.

If you require assistance to pay your registration fees, please submit an application directly to the organizations below. Our club is already registered with them as service providers. These programs may be able to help cover a portion of or total fee expense:

In addition, individual players can get sponsorship from parents' place of work, local businesses, or different other organizations whose goal is promoting the physical and mental well-being of young people through sports.
